THE 2024 WINE YEAR

…. us we know, every year is unique.
The start of the year was mild and dry, except for some rain at the end of February.
The almond trees reflected the mild winter and blossomed at the end of the month followed by the apricot trees a week later.
The early spring started with heavy rain and was followed by a warm period, with temperatures reaching 28°C.
Budding and sprouting went hand in hand and the work in the vineyard began, but was interrupted by a week of ice cold temperatures from 18 till 25 April.
Frost and polar winds from the north caused damage to the Neuburger, Zweigelt and the Sauvignon blanc on the high terrasses.
Early summer started with a heavy thunderstorm, cool temperatures and several rainy days warming up by the end of June.
Due to high temperatures in August the grapes ripened very early and were ready to harvest by the end of the month, but it was too hot.
